It started with a problem.

When my beautiful baby girl was 4 months old, she developed severe eczema. Since then, we have tried every kind of topical treatment available to alleviate her symptoms. Eventually the only thing her skin could tolerate without causing her tears was Aquaphor or petroleum jelly. Those helped for a time, but they never helped her skin heal, just prevented it from getting any drier.

Frustrated and at a loss for what to do next, I scoured the internet for ideas, and came across an article about whipped tallow balm. I was sold.

I set about making tallow balm, and after testing it on my own skin, I applied it to my daughter’s eczema. Prior to this point, my daughter’s skin was so dry we had been “wet dressing” her every night (if you are unfamiliar with this, it means applying a layer of moisturizer (we used Aquaphor) then a layer of wet clothing, followed by a layer of dry clothing, with the goal of trapping the moisturizer on her skin long enough to relieve itchiness and help heal the affected area).

The tallow balm worked like a miracle. It relieved her itching and started healing her eczema rash almost immediately. We haven’t had to wet dress her since. Within days the worst of her rash was gone and has yet to return.

This product is 100% a labor of love. No child (or adult) should have to suffer through weeks and months of itchy painful rashes like she did. Lotions and creams shouldn’t sting and burn when their job is to heal. And perhaps one of the best parts about this stuff is how incredibly safe it is. You can literally eat it (it probably doesn’t taste great, so maybe don’t try it, but it certainly won’t hurt you if you do).
